Rooster Yarns was originally borne out of knitting groups desire to knit with really good natural fibre yarn. The knitting group met at a farm where chickens roamed free.
When it came to naming the yarn, ‘Rooster’ was chosen because of the chickens. Rooster is also a small but dedicated 3rd generation family company, based in rural Cheshire. Creative advice, help and inspiration are always available from our approachable, knowledgeable team. We specialise in natural fibres.
We chose natural fibres to make our quality yarns. Because they are kinder to the environment, without harmful chemicals because these can be detrimental to our health and the environment. Because unlike synthetic fibres, natural fibres are renewable, carbon neutral and biodegradable. Natural fibres breathe, are absorbent, comfortable to wear and are so beautifully tactile.
Also Rural and farming communities, UK and abroad benefit from our choice too. Natural fibre industries are vital to economies of many developing counties and the livelihoods of small-scale farmers depend upon it.
Every Rooster yarn is hand picked and quality, top of the line yarn that will delight knitters and crocheters alike.
The finest alpaca, merino wool and mulberry silk carefully blended and spun to make our yarns unique.
Each shade is chosen to reflect the established colour palette, which is popular with crafters worldwide for its variety and versatility.
Responsible and Sustainable
We believe this is very important and all yarns are sourced from manufacturers who support the welfare of the animals and community , this is also reflected in the quality of the yarn.
